Capacity+ are consultants that helps organizations build their capacity through a variety of program design and grant writing services. Here's how we have helped past clients and people in the community.
Yvette was a game-changer in helping me secure funding for my business. She took the time to understand my mission and gathered all the necessary details to find funders who align with my goals. Thanks to her, I quickly had a list of several potential funders. This saved me a lot of time, allowing me to focus on other crucial aspects of my business. If you need grant writing services to grow your business, I highly recommend Yvette.
"As most of us know, one of the main components of AAUW’s mission statement is education. Yvette has committed her life to the pursuit of knowledge, education and advanced learning, and she has worked tirelessly, yet enthusiastically to guide others along the same path. Many college graduates today have Dr. Myrick to thank for enabling them to fulfill their educational and career goals. Her motto for students, friends, co-workers and fellow AAUW members is to 'Keep it moving forward, no matter what life brings your way, never give up and always think about ways to improve and grow!'"
"Estelle’s role as Director for New Initiatives is more extensive than grant preparation and includes program design, implementation, management, and evaluation. She prepares grant proposals that are designed to deliver. Activities are evidence-based and implementation strategies draw on our organizational strengths of volunteer mobilization and cross-sector collaboration. She chooses data collection and evaluation approaches that enable data-driven decisions and are not overly cumbersome to collect and analyze. Positive results follow. For example, her first project involved a mixed-performance group of sixth grade boys. At the end of the first year, the low-performing students out-performed the rest of their sixth-grade peers in math grades and school attendance. Her current project, the Saturday Leadership Program, aims for a citywide reach and delivers. The program serves students from 40 schools and 49 neighborhoods."
"Though we have close to 200 writers that service our over 100 grant clients, Estelle has quickly risen to the top as one of our most esteemed and demanded writers. She has a tremendous eye for detail that very few of our writers can match. She is also incredibly reliable—she meets deadlines, provides clients with quick and detailed feedback, and is always on time and prepared. We know at McAllister & Quinn that her proposal will be articulate and comprehensive, compliant with the guidelines, and reflective of the client’s concept.
She is particularly good working with clients who have very little to no experience with federal proposal writing. In this cases, she is often much more than a writer; she helps clients shape their concept and proposed activities, outlines supporting data that will be needed to strengthen the proposal and helps shape objectives and evaluation criteria to ensure the proposal and project’s success."
"Estelle Young's exemplary skills in project design, proposal development and teamwork cross many boundaries. I learned early on to count on Estelle [and her team] for her practicality, clear thinking and realism, and in a very different sphere, her immense creativity and willingness to innovate. She is comfortable in embracing large conceptual issues and also zeroing in on the myriad details needed to work on a budget, table or chart. Her creative talents are expressed in pictorial graphics and expressive language. Her dependability makes her an absolute joy to work with."
